Count your Blessings

Alhamdulillah...All Praise is due to Allah, The Almighty, The Lord of the worlds.

Are we grateful to Allah? Do we count our Blessings? Or do we keep bickering and cursing and complaining constantly about the minute trials we have to face in this world, (which is also a good thing actually as it is an opportunity for us to earn ajar (reward) from Allah, and all we have to do is be patient!) ?

How can we be so ungrateful to Allah, Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem?

If we were to weigh our blessings from Allah Subhanahu watha'ala on one balance sincerely and with gratitude, and the little trials on the other balance of the scale, which one side would be more heavy? Do we really think of the less fortunate, our sisters and brothers suffering in many parts of the world because we are not fulfilling our duties to them properly? Or do we just express our concern for them verbally, and then when it comes to something concerning us, our heart is very heavy?

Allah says in the Qur'an:
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ
"And as for the blessings of your Lord, proclaim it!" (Surah Ad-Dhuha: 11)

"And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks, I will give you more; but if you are thankless, verily, My punishment is indeed severe." (Surah Ibraheem: 7)

So, inshAllah, let's pray to Allah SWT, to give us a heart that is Grateful to Him, and with this gratitude, let's increase ourselves in righteousness through our thoughts, speech and deeds.

Alhamdulillah for the provisions that are only there for us as a Blessing from Allah SWT.

Alhamdulillah for the trials of this life that will make mre more patient.

Alhamdulillah for making me a Muslim, and Blessing me with the Qur'an as an infinite source of guidance. Alhamdulillah, for promising me Jannah if I obey His commands and do righteous deeds, and for warning me to stay away from matters that will lead me to the Hell-fire.
